What is GPS?

GPS stands for Global Positioning System. GPS is a satellite-based navigation system made up of a network of 24 satellites placed into orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. GPS works in any weather conditions, anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. GPS can tell you the location of anything that has a GPS receiver attached to it, in real time. This means that if a receiver is placed onto a vehicle, GPS would be able to discern the speed at which the vehicle is moving and pinpoint exactly where the vehicle is at every moment of everyday.
